The Village goddess who was called Tankali gained reputation as Sullurpeta Chengalamma Thalli and her idol in the temple faces the sea. Devotees from different parts of the State visit the place and fulfil their vows, referring the goddess as the mother who grants boons liberally. It near to Nellore as well as Chennai also, it is 98 km away from the Nellore; it is easy to reach the temple by bus, train. Any bus towards Chennai goes through sullurpeta, vice versa the buses towards Vijayawada, Nellore will go through sullurpeta. We can reach temple easily trains, few super-fast trains like charminar, hyderabad, pinakini, jumbuthavi trains have stage in sullurpeta , apart from this local trains also operated to Chennai . We reach chengalamma temple by getting any train.
